Under the Alpha’s Protection by Doris O’Connor

under the alpha's protection

When Nikita arrived at his door, crying and clutching her shredded clothes to cover herself, it was all Raoul could do to put his lust for her and his anger in check at whomever had put her in this state. Calming his wolf as he howled inside for vengeance was another matter entirely. Checking his inner alpha took even more will-power.

Nikita’s thinking it’s past time to move Raoul from the friend zone and into something much more intimate, which is fine with Raoul since that’s where he’s wanted her for the last five years. He’s thinking it’s time to spill some secrets about his lifestyle. If she’s ready! Nikita’s on board with part of his life but refuses to even consider the possibility of the other.

The characters are easy to invest in and empathize with as the reader immediately understands both Nikita’s shock and Raoul’s desire to wreak havoc right now! There were small flaws but nothing that couldn’t be solved with a few more pages. This short novella is bigger than its pages from the outset. For this reader it was a great mind mint between longer reads and pretty good paranormal smut.
