Moonlight: The Big Bad Wolf (Black Swan) by Victoria Danann

moonlight order of the black swan

This outing starts with a recap of what’s gone before as Team B is still the focus though no longer active. Elora and Ram are off to live at the compound to try to keep Elora safe until the assassins from her dimension are caught. Glen stays at their home to await the arrival of the very rare wolf puppies. Baka and Heaven replace Elora at Elven Prince Duff Torquil’s celebration with Song in tow.

In a nod to the varied series history, the wolf pups aren’t the only thread, Song and Duff are aware of the Elven/Fae issues their fated mating causes but are nonetheless powerless against it; the leadership of the Order to about to change and the position’s been offered to Storm (which could line up team B to raise a team in their fierce image). Also new visitors from beyond come to stay and cause a stir.

Though the variety of the series is enjoyable for my taste, (alien, vampire, fae and shifter), the tone of this outing was too much light-hearted filler. Very middle bookish and put down able, it didn’t hold the excitement, adventure, action or urgency of the earlier installments. However, this outing, like the others really should be read in order for continuity’s sake.
