All Carissa Teodoro wanted was a husband, a houseful of babies and a date at the Dairy Queen with Carson Steele. As a child all Carson Steele wanted was to make it to adulthood and Carissa Teodoro. Carson’s life took a sharp turn and he had to escape to make his plan work and that meant leaving Carissa behind.
Homecoming queen, Carissa married the richest, most popular boy in school; and ended up being the most miserable woman of their graduating class when her husband proved to be a greedy, cheating, selfish prick of the first degree who humiliated her at every turn. But there is joy to be found in her baby boy who’s also a bone of contention.
Years later, Carson returns to Englewood, Colorado and is re-incarnated as Joker, member of the Chaos Motorcycle Club. One fateful date, Joker stops to help Carissa out of a spot of trouble and before long, she’s adopted into the KA family – Colorado branch. Small cameos by past KA heroes and some of their lady loves were welcome, appreciated and made sense for the read.
Finding their own brand of happy takes the adults of the trio through the expected battles and outcomes. Baby Travis doesn’t fail to get any and everyone dancing to his tune. There are also small storylines that only seemed to have little purpose than to fill pages but did not take away from this readers overall enjoyment of the outing..
For this reader’s taste the flimsy stereotypical ex didn’t show enough redeeming qualities to make him a viable adversary for this hero but the cute baby was leashed enough to keep the read from being kid-centric. Typical for a KA outing, the read was a bit long and the rough around the edges almost bad boy is tamed by both her carnal finesse and the surrendering of her heart. The fun is in the journey.
